Inspection Fees Program
Introduction: The Canby Fire District is committed to creating safer communities through prevention, preparedness, and effective fire and medical emergency response. As part of this commitment, we have established a Cost Recovery Program approved by the Canby Fire Board of Directors that allows us to provide additional essential services efficiently while managing costs for taxpayers.
What is the Cost Recovery Program? The Cost Recovery Program Ordinance #21-001 enables our Community Risk Reduction (CCR) Division to recover expenses associated with specific services, including:
- Fire Inspections and Plan Reviews:
- Periodic fire inspections are performed within businesses in the Canby Fire District in compliance with the Oregon Fire Code. These inspections ensure compliance with all applicable Codes and Standards and help ensure community safety.
- Plans and construction related reviews are conducted for businesses before and during construction. This ensures compliance with the Oregon Fire Code (OFC), compliant emergency vehicle access, appropriate water supply, and life safety standards.
- Operational Fire Permits:
- In addition to the Cost Recovery Program, we issue Operational Fire Permits for specific activities, such as construction, fire alarm systems, fireworks displays, special events, and Mobile Food Units.
- These permits ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and help prevent emergencies.
- Please note that all invoicing will be managed by Systems Design West, LLC. of Silverdale, WA.
Why Is It Important?
- The Cost Recovery Program ensures that our community receives timely and effective services without overburdening taxpayers.
- Operational Fire Permits, including those for Mobile Food Units, contribute to safety by regulating activities that have the potential to pose fire risks.
